I'm listening to a recording of Kasey Kasum's American Top Forty from 08/08/70. Melanie's "Lay Down (Candles in the Rain)" was introduced by Kasey by noting that Melanie considers herself to be a sort of health nut. In fact, she had even gotten an agreement from Buddha Records to print on the jacket of her next album recipes for "Melanie's Special Health Salads."
I do not recall seeing this on any Melanie album. Was it another trick from Buddha? Was Kasey misled? Could I have misunderstood Kasey? Anyone know?

When you read the Tales from the Roadburn Cafe - which you can order here: Tales from the Roadburn Cafe - Amazon.com or here: Bol.com - Nederlandse winkel
you can read that Melanie wanted that book to contain some recipes.
I think Melanie loves food and she loves healthy food too.

Melanie comes from very food conscious stock she probably makes really good Italian food. I'd like to see a book by Mel about that. I know very little about Ukraine and there food (I assume its like anywhere in the Slavic countries very hearty stuff).

I still have the page from Melanie's Good Book that has the Mushroom Caps in Cheddar Cream Sauce recipe. Wish I still had the whole book. I've always traveled light through life, so a lot of the Melanie stuff I had in the old days are just a memory now.

Missourigirl, can you share that recipe with us? I am from Germany and have never seen these releases with gimmicks like that. I mean, the LPs I bought in the 70s were later issues and had nothing like that, and being a cook myself, I would be VERY interested in trying her recipes for myself!
