I just read that Melanie will be at BB Kings in NYC in April of 2012! I missed her in NJ in October, but I will be there in April. Also..she mentioned a play about her life with Peter: Melanie and the Music Man? Is that a go? The reason I inquire is the poster shown on her tweet lists Blackfriars Theater in Rochester, NY as the venue. I'm curious? Is Rochester a try out city for the play? I'm thrilled as I live in a suburb of Rochester. Best news ever! I hope it all goes for October 2012! A fitting tribute for Peter!

Thanks, Dia, I did find out more about Melanie and the Music Man. And, my tickets for BB King event in April are ordered and on their way to me. I will be watching for more news about the planned musical. The writer/developer of the play said that Natalie Hart will portray the younger Melanie, but the plan is that Melanie will play her "older" self and that Beau will portray the "producer".
BTW. I came across a very old CASSETTE Tape...made on a very old Dictaphone taperecorder from a concert Melanie did on 11/13/81 at Northstate Dinner Theater on Long Island. The quality is not great, but I'm hoping I can take it to a techo/musico friend who can clean it up and put it on something where I can share. On it, she mentions that it is the first time she has played in America in a long time. She also mentions the musical that was going to be presented at the "Library Equity Theater" at Lincoln Center...which I attended ! She sang one of the songs from the muscial. She also sang a great song written by Liberty DeVito -- long time drummer and friend of Billy Joel. My favorite is on that cassettee -- "Bon Appetite" - I love that song. It was on an album, and always my favorite. Did she write that one too?
I think I have a treasure in this 30 year old cassette. It must be right around the time Beau was born, or just before he was born.

@Dia, thanks for that info. My book hasn't arriven yet, and that is odd with amazon. Normally they always deliver right away, but not so this time. I wonder whether there are some complications going on (legal matters)? But I am only speculating, maybe the delay is caused by a natural reason.

@Margaret, Beau Jarred was born on Sept 11, 1980.

I ordered the book on December 27th and got a confirmation from Amazon that my order has been shipped and should arrive by Jan. 7. If you didn't receive an email about your order, maybe you should email amazon. No legal issues regarding the book especially since John said on the Yahoo site that once he recoups his initial layout of money, he will be giving the profits to Melanie. He is such a great guy, I know him personally and if he wrote a book about Melanie, it will be as loving and accurate as it can possibly be.

I ordered the book from Amazon yesterday. Actually two copies; one for me and one for my sister on Long Island. The preview on Amazon looked good, and as you say, I am sure it was written with love.

Thank you for information about Beau's birthdate - so the tape I have was from a concert when he was about one year old. Funny how things are. A few years back - summer of 2006 maybe? I was teaching summer school at a campus at Finger Lakes Community College in upstate New York. It was our last day..and I was loading things in my car, and the "shell" at the Peforming Arts Center was warming up for a Woodstock commemorative event. I knew who was performing, but due to circumanstances in my life, I couldn't attend. I stood outside in the parking lot, hours before the concert, and listened to Beau do warm ups and sound tests, and I heard Melanie too. I cried, as I stood in the parking lot of Canadandaigua (now called CMAC) and I truly felt that I had my own "private concert" from Beau and Melanie, and I think the girls were there too! Funny how our lives keep intersecting. And now the show coming to Blackfriars Theater in Rochester. THAT, I will see! Many more strange intersections of our lives...too strange to mention here.
