Darn, I wish I could travel down to San Diego and listen to Melanie at the Del Mar Fairgrounds. It's just too far for me to go. I hope our southern California friends can go and tell the rest of us all about it. I'll just sit here turning more and more green with envy.

I did the same thing, Bill. Del Mar is hundreds of miles away and involves driving through Los Angeles, too far a trip for me to make. A shame, cuz it's the day before Dan's birthday and eleven days before mine.

I've been wanting to see Melanie perform live, since I was a young teenager living in Saskatchewan, Canada.
I'm 51 now and I live on Canada's west coast. I just found out she'll be at the San Diego fair - that's a very inexpensive plane ride away from here!
The regulations just changed so that Canadians now need a passport in order to travel to the U.S. I didn't have one and there have been tremendous waits, but today, I found out that I can get mine by June 10!!
I'M GOING TO SEE MELANIE IN SAN DIEGO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You bet I will, Bill - I'm so excited.

Does anyone know what the venue is like at the Del Mar fairgrounds? For instance, is it a good thing to spend the $99 for the dinner package and get the floor seats, or would that put us at a disadvantage- ie: floor seats at a stadium concert but then the entire crowd comes and stands right in front of you. I really want to be able to see her, but maybe it's better to get seats on the terraces? Anyone out there familiar with the San Diego Fair venue?

I wish I could answer that-one for 'ya, Nina, but I have no idea. Hopefully someone here will be able to assist!

I personally would opt for the floor seat package, but that's just me! My experience has been that the 'Beautiful People' who attend Melanie's shows are well behaved, and don't crowd the front, and block others......

Melanie (almost always) does a 'meet & greet' after her shows, so, even if you opt for a terrace location, you may still be able to see her up-close....really up close!

Keep us posted on your plans, and especially your "Melanie Magic Experience" upon your return! -You will be awed!

I would also get the floor deal but only after I called the place to make sure it is the best deal. Often field places are the better ones. Good Luck Nina, I hope you have a great Melanie time
