Yeah I'm going. Still can't get hubby to come so on my own again. Can't miss it and it's nearest gig to me. Gonna stop at my daughter's who only lives 20 minutes away (ha! that's with out the city traffic I'm not used to).

whats the memorial hall like??? is it a large venue, good view of the stage etc???

Its an excellent venue. The memorial hall is actually a smaller hall behind the main City Hall. Excellent acoustics and view. Not been to the Memorial Hall for a few years, Nov 03 in fact when I saw Lindisfarne on their farewell tour. Bit of a coincidence as Melanie does a cover of Meet Me On The Corner (retitled Dreamseller). In deed the whole night will be small things falling in to place. Although i'm of an age where i can remember Melanie in the charts at the time I didn't take that much notice (Hey, I was 12 and Bolan and Bowie where everywhere). A few months ago I picked up a best of on a whim. Loved it and have been slowly picking up Melanie's back catalogue, when I can find them on Mr Amazon. Never thought I'd get to see her, then she turns up 20 miles from my home !!

As an added coincidence the other concert I'm looking forward to this year is Mott The Hoople, who did a cover of Lay Down on one of their early albums. (Never realised it was a Melanie cover until a few months ago)

Just back from the Memorial Hall show and another wonderful Melanie experience it was. I'm sure others will give a more detailed response but just thought I'd make you all jealous.
