Howdee again!

Just saw the Hippiefest here in ATL, another great evening!

The show was running late, and Mel got 'pulled' early, before she could play candles! {you can see the guy coming out to tell her to stop in one of the photos!) A lot of folks were unhappy about that, because she did tell a couple of long stories and did TWTD and Ruby T..... but she sounded good, and her son really did a great job again.

Jonathan Edwards (not the pssykick nut job, or the presidential nut job) was really good, Joey Molland rocked, the Turtles were great a usual, Jack Bruce.....what can ya say, awesome, in the litteral sense of the word: AWE. and Eric B and band were really rocking, most powerful I ever saw them. Had orig guitar Hilton, in the band this time!

Jeeezzzz, I wish I had known......I saw him walking around, and knew he looked familiar, and I had an 8x10 of my shot of her from the last show..... the shot with her arm draped over her head, that I wanted to get signed, but she didn't do an after-set meet'n'grab!

Greetings from a long time Melanie Fanatic, The last time I was on list the whole setup was different and so I don't really know what I'm doing. I believe I'm responding to Bill's welcome. My "real" name is Mark and my "unreal" name is Efren. I saw Melanie last Oct. on Long Island at Huntington's Folk Society. She was in good voice. Beau got a standing ovation for his guitar, and so did our lady,they practically begged her to sing more but she had just came DIRECTLY from the Uk and Peter said NO!
I saw the post about "It's me again" and I have a story. I was in California for years and she hardly ever plays there you know, so I flew cross country and drove upstate New York where she was playing at Turning Point. I was right up front in the small venue and when she heard I'd traveled on my roller skated to New York she said "what would you like to hear.
For some reason I chose that song and she sang it so sweetly with the chestnut eyes gleaming, How she remembered the words I don't know. She said she couldn't remember the "weird" part in the middle.I vaguelt remember the haunting "ahs". I was at Carnegie Hall at the show before her birthday (there was one show the night before and another on her 26th birthday.)
Anyway I am so glad to be back and see some of the names I haven't communicated with for so long.
